Happy Holidays! This past week had been a crazy one: with me coming home from college, catching up with friends, getting a driver license (that may or may not have involved me not knowing the test route and improving on the spot), having surprisingly philosophical discussions with church friends that used to strike me as closed-minded conservative individuals. Long story short, this year draws to a close on a surprisingly positive note (who knows, packing for my trip to Taiwan may or may not lead to unnecessary stress and etc., but I am going to be optimistic).
And the point is, the end of the year (along with the end of my semester) accompanies the end of my story, The Emperor and Her Assassin. This is the longest project that I have attempted (and actually carried through with), and I never really imagined, when I published the first post “I.” back in 11/8/16 that today would come, when I am only two sappy chapters away from the end.
77,000 words (+ several side chapters) would conclude this long journey, and I am infinitely thankful for all of you that supported me by dropping by and/or gave me a like here and there. Here’s to the next year of happy writing/reading, I have a new series already lined up, started, ready to go.
It’s been a while since I posted an announcement post. As you can see, I am nearing the end of my book, The Emperor and Her Assassin, and my first college semester. Yay? I’m going to whoop and pretend that I am not worried sick by finals.
As I have developed a more organized way of life, I have been writing more for the past weeks. I have also recently discovered that all comments from you guys go directly into spam (or perhaps the only comments I get are just spam. Now this is more probable). I have noticed that all the “spam”/comments accumulate in this random chapter of my book, so I just made this post as a new place to collect it.
If you have any GENERAL QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, PERSONAL ATTACKS TO LOWER MY NONEXISTENT SELF-ESTEEM, IDEAS, ADVICE, AND/OR PRAISE TO RAISE MY NONEXISTENT SELF-ESTEEM, please comment here on this post. Or, find the tab on the corner of your screen (or the bar on top if you are on your computer), and comment on the “About This Blog” page for general comments!
As always, thanks for dropping by. I would love to hear what you think of this site!
It’s been two years since I started this whole thing, and I just want to take the moment to thank all of you for motivating me to finish things. Apologies for being so inactive lately since I’ve been busy with college visits/decision (Go Bears!), the end of such a large chapter of my life through the ever-so-eventful high school, and certain emotional struggles that result from the above mentioned.
I just want to express that this space is especially precious to me since it is more of an incubator than it is a blog: my ideas and creativity in their most infant forms survive here because the fact that these drafts are some what “published” prevents me from ripping them into shreds.
So thank you, thank you for taking me so far by simply being here.
Dear Readers, 29 days of January, 28 days of February, and 57 daily posts later, I have decided to lower the quota to every-other-day posts aka posts on each odd date.
For the past 57 days I have either been scheduling posts ahead of time or actually scrambling and posting them a few hours late. And, it has began to wear down on my sleeping schedule now that things are getting busier even in the last semester of my high school career.
Again, thank you all so much for reading and dropping by. Your silent support speaks volumes.
So…the trilogy is finally complete. Someone told me that there is really no clear closure after LaLauren Mansion, and since I value heavily that certain someone’s opinions, I just wrote this new extension of the story to try to wrap up the loose ends…and it seemed that I only created more loose ends with four chapters (all named after some reference from Shakespeare’s Macbeth) or 2,381 words.
No matter, I am simply glad that I can say goodbye (partially) to this large project, and pretend that I’ve done an incredible thing.
No worries, I’ve planned a new story already, so I will be working very hard to redeem myself as soon as I am done with college applications/essays.
As always, thank you for checking out this site,
So…23 chapters (or 26,492 words) later, my second story, LaLauren Mansion, is finally finished. Just want to thank all of you for reading and liking the many chapters: I hope all of you had as much fun reading as I had writing. I tried very hard to use character development or the lack of along with other seemingly awkward language to illuminate certain aspects/critique of our society, though it may really seem amateurish since I am still working on my skills as writer!
However, if any of you are actually interested in knowing what is going on in this strange head of mine when I wrote certain chapters– and to be honest, some are more symbolic than others — please comment on those chapters and I will write the analysis explaining the rationale and certain allegories/references/allusions that is always within everything I write. (Random fact, I like to call these references literary easter eggs, just because it sounds a lot less esoteric or intimidating.)
Anyway, a huge thank you for all of your support: I will continue to sharpen my skills with more ambitious projects that can hopefully be enjoyable and meaningful to you guys.
Now that I have finished my first story (and plagued all of you with super long, thousands-worded posts), I thought I might have a bit of a change with this new project, “My Dictionary.”
This is a project that aims to show how I understand the world around me. It’s mostly meant to try to convey the way that I allow my mind to drift with every object that I come in contact with. The order in which these posts come are completely random, and I aim to update it as often as possible. So, hope you enjoy these much quicker reads!
